Fast Food Fires

Apparently, there is a serial arsonist in the Plymouth area. The Arby’s that was burned about a year ago was the first instance. That building was completely demolished. I had guessed that it was caused by a grease fire. One of the most recent fires targeted the Wendy's near my old apartment building. The Star Tribune is reporting that there were two more attempts Tuesday morning and a few last weeks.

Plymouth police responded to an alarm just before 2:30 a.m. at the Wendy's at 14370 28th Place N., where they found a broken window and a fire that appeared to have been set.

I went there on many occasions when I just didn't want to cook. Here’s to a speedy recovery.

Ranking the Coen Brother's Films

So, I'm thinking that the order that someone ranks the Coen Brother's films in tells a lot about them. My current ranking is behind the cut. If you want to rank them prior to viewing mine they are listed below in alphabetical order. I'm still undecided about my top four.

Barton Fink (1991)
Big Lebowski, The (1998)
Blood Simple. (1984)
Fargo (1996)
Hudsucker Proxy, The (1994)
Intolerable Cruelty (2003)
Ladykillers, The (2004)
Man Who Wasn't There, The (2001)
Miller's Crossing (1990)
O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000)
Raising Arizona (1987)

Here's my ranking.

1. Big Lebowski, The (1998)
2. Fargo (1996)
3. Miller's Crossing (1990)
4. Man Who Wasn't There, The (2001)
5. Hudsucker Proxy, The (1994)
6. Blood Simple. (1984)
7. Raising Arizona (1987)
8. Barton Fink (1991)
9. O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000)
10. Ladykillers, The (2004)
11. Intolerable Cruelty (2003)

FYI - I haven’t seen The Ladykillers or Intolerable Cruelty. But, they don't seem to appeal to me either; hence their low ranking.

Looking for a new bed

We're in the process of searching for a new bed. The hardest part about finding a bed is determining what to do with the other furniture in the room. Do we buy a new nightstand, hutch, and dresser or live with what we currently have?

It's also important to pay attention to the shape of the room the furniture will go in. If it's oddly shaped or doesn't have enough wall space it makes it hard to pick out the pieces of furniture you want.

We're currently sleeping on a futon I bought for my first apartment. Its seven years old now and I've slept on it for five of those years. It's about had it as a bed. It's going to retire to the computer room.

We also tested mattresses Tuesday night. They are so comfortable. I can't believe we're still sleeping on a futon. It's important to note that the futon mattress we're currently sleeping on has springs in it and is not just a regular old flimsy mattress. But still, a real mattress would be a great improvement.
