Net Worth

Ok, here's a graph of my net worth over the first 10 days. Not too bad.
Keep in mind that this is for a stock game and has no reflection on real life.

Movie Stocks

Matt and I have both become memebers of the Hollywood Stock Exchange. It's a hypothetical market based around buying and selling stocks and options in movies and actors. They start you with a base of 2 million to invest. In my first day I have increased my net worth by a little over 10%. If you set-up an account let them know that jefjefe sent you.

More movies

Oh, and I watched the Lost in Translation DVD that I bought last week. I still need to watch the extras. It's on of my favorite folms of 2003. I hope it wins a few Oscars. It did fairly well at the globes.

Lost in Translation
It's a nice tranquil movie about people finding themselves. Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson both do a phenomenal job.

Rounders
This one was on TV while I was working on my site. Both Matt Damon and Edward Norton are great actors. With the recent craze of Texas Hold'em shows on TV I'm surprised that this movie isn't in higher rotation on cable. This movie beats watching third rate actors actually play against each other.

Too much root beer

There's one problem with the 32oz. bottles of IBC root beer. You shouldn't try to drink a whole bottle all at once. I tried making a float on Sunday night and ended up finishing the bottle. It feels good at first but with the addition of the ice cream ends up being too much.

Movie Reviews

Here are a few movie reviews from the last week.

The Butterfly Effect
We saw The Butterfly Effect last Wednesday compliments of Target. It was an OK movie, probably best suited for teenagers. The beginning of the movie set-up a good premise. Unfortunately, there were a few scenes that made me laugh that shouldn't have.

The Triplets of Belleville
An interesting animated film. Not quite sure how much I liked it. It was an interesting style. But, I think I'm not much of a french animation fan.

IBC Root Beer

Target is selling 32 oz. bottles of IBC Root Beer for $1. I ended up buying 6 bottles last night.

Oh, and I bought a copy of Lost in Translation on DVD.

Deals at Target

On Sunday I was able to buy a leather coat at Target for only $25. It had originally been priced at $100. I also bought two sweaters at less than $4 each and a winter hat for an additional $4. So the lesson is that if you need winter clothing now is the time to buy.

Old Poems

The longer you clean a closet the more you find.

Two poems by Jeff Running

Gold Fish

Goldfish
Goldfish
in the sea
Goldfish
Goldfish
look at me

Bubble

Bubble, Bubble
Went the Fish
Give me food
not on a dish
Bubble, Bubble
Went the fish
Don't ruin my mood
it's my wish

Old Computer Game

I found an old copy of Scorched Earth 1.1 while cleaning out the computer room closet. Basically, you just adjust the angle and poswer of your tank and take turns shooting each other. If you win a round you get to buy better weapons and shields. It's still as much fun as I remember. MB didn't seem too enthralled with the game. The documentation indicates that it was created in 1991. Hard to believe that the game came out so long ago. I use to spend hours playing this game.
