My 1995 Saturn SL1 with about 130,000 miles is starting to have issues when it idles at long stop lights. The RPMs fall to about 800 fairly steadily. However, every once and a while it will drop just below. The engine gives a little shake. Well, more than usual. If it falls below 800 RPMs for more than a few seconds the Check Engine light comes one.
