It rained a lot Tuesday night. At 11:30 last night there was a lightning strike near our apartment that set off the fire alarm. It went off for about four or five minutes before it sounded like someone was attempting to shut it off. After that point every one to two minutes it would go of for about 2 seconds stop and then go off again for about a second. It was pretty annoying. This continued from at least 11:30 to 2:30. I fell asleep for a while but kept waking up due to the stupid ringing. We also had rain coming in through our bedroom air conditioner. It just kept dripping. We had to put down a bowl to collect the rain.
In the morning the potted plants on the deck were under water. The main intersection that I drive through every day was also under water, as was the golf course across the highway. I decided to take a drive past our new house to make sure that everything in that area wasn’t under water. It was actually pretty dry in that neighbor hood considering they received four to six inches of rain.
After checking out the house I attempted to drive using back roads to work. I got lost a few times and it ended up taking me three times as long to get to work.
